Dalby and Surrounds

Situated in the black soil plains of the Northern Darling Downs, Dalby and the surrounding townships are a hive of rural enterprise...

Dalby is a great place to base yourself before exploring the Bunya Mountains National Park and historic Jimbour House, a short drive north-west of Dalby. For the keen fisherman and water sport enthusiast, why not stop off at Jandowae Dam for a spot of fishing, a swim or a tranquil picnic. While south-west of Dalby lies Lake Broadwater Conservation Park, a popular spot for camping, water sports, bushwalking and birdwatching.

If travelling north-east to the Bunya Mountains, make sure to stop in at Kaimkillenbun, the longest single place name in Queensland and is known locally simply as 'The Bun'. While enroute to the Bunya Mountains, visit the picturesque township of Bell. Nestled in the foothills of the Bunya Mountains with panoramic views of rolling farmland, Bell is only a 30 minute drive from the Bunya Mountains National Park and is an ideal spot to take a break and look around.

Throughout Dalby and surrounds there is also great bird watching trails spots to keep an eye out for. Click here for more information.
